Senior Practitioner – Child Protection and Assessment Team (CPAT)

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for an experienced Senior Practitioner within the Child Protection and Assessment Team (CPAT) to work full time based in Ilford.

Salary: Up to £49,839 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle complex cases and detailed assessments, including Child Protection Assessments where appropriate.
  2. Assist the Manager in team responsibilities such as work allocation, maintaining high professional standards, and supporting staff development.
  3. Stay updated with good practice guidance, legislation, government initiatives, and local policies, playing a lead role in disseminating this information within the team.
  4. Provide consultation, advice, and guidance to team members on professional issues.
  5. Support the development and maintenance of projects within set timelines.
  6. Represent the Manager or Head of Service at meetings and act as Deputy when required.
  7. Prepare complex reports and briefing papers on policy and operational issues and participate in meetings, case conferences, and project groups.
  8. Offer professional advice to support team members in fulfilling their duties in accordance with the Children Act 1989.
  9. Ensure team compliance with statutory responsibilities, policies, and standards, promoting anti-discriminatory practice.
  10. Identify training needs and develop appropriate training plans for the team.

Requirements:

  • A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Proven experience in social work.
