Salary: £30,000 per annum

Main Duties:
- Provide high-level nursing care and monitor animal progress, prioritising first aid to stabilise patients and minimise discomfort.
- Prepare and clean animal accommodation according to patient needs and local policies, ensuring the patient's safety, security, and cleanliness while monitoring and recording their condition.
- Offer clear and concise advice on animal care plans and assist clients in caring for their pets.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records for all patients.
- Assist the Veterinary Surgeon with laboratory diagnostic tests, including collecting samples, proper storage, and documentation.
- Determine and administer appropriate fluid therapy, preparing the patient, positioning, and restraining them as needed, and developing a nursing care plan based on any changes in the patient's condition.
- Prepare radiography equipment, identify the areas to be imaged, and record results according to practice procedures.
- Maintain a sterile surgical environment and equipment, prepare surgical tools, and implement infection control measures.
- Support the Veterinary Surgeon during surgical procedures by providing necessary equipment and materials and operating surgical equipment as required.
- Verify the animal's condition and the anaesthetic procedure to be administered, performing pre-anaesthetic checks and monitoring the animal throughout the procedure.
- Calculate and administer medications accurately, keeping precise records; dispense medications if appropriately trained (SQP).
- Mentor Student Veterinary Nurses by acting as a Clinical Coach, assisting them with their Nursing Progress Log, teaching clinical skills, supervising their progress, and supporting their assessment of occupational standards.
