What you will do:
- Independently conduct paediatric hearing assessments across varying ages and developmental stages.
- Manage and lead Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) clinics.
- Oversee Play Audiometry and Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) clinics.
- Perform otoscopy and accurately interpret the findings.
- Conduct immittance testing, including tympanometry and acoustic reflex measurements.
- Execute and interpret Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) testing.
- Perform age-appropriate speech audiometry assessments.
- Fit and review paediatric hearing aids, ensuring a tailored approach for each child.
- Complete hearing aid verification using both real-ear and simulated real-ear measures.
- Formulate comprehensive management plans and make referrals where necessary.
- Keep precise clinical records using the AuditBase system.
- Aid in waiting list management and the effective delivery of service.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Audiology.
- HCPC or RCCP registration, if applicable.
- Proven experience in Paediatric Audiology, including independent paediatric hearing assessments, and running VRA, Play Audiometry, and PTA clinics.
- Proficiency in otoscopy, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, and OAE interpretation.
- Skilled in fitting and reviewing paediatric hearing aids and conducting hearing aid verification procedures.
- Familiarity with the AuditBase system.
- Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
- Advanced experience in Paediatric Audiology.
- Previous NHS Children’s Audiology experience.
- Experience contributing to service development initiatives.
- Experience within multidisciplinary paediatric teams.
