What you will do:

  • Deliver person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions for adults with mental health needs.
  • Manage a defined caseload within the MINT service.
  • Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment planning, and interventions.
  • Perform risk assessments and create risk management plans.
  • Offer individual and group-based interventions.
  • Facilitate discharge planning and transfer to primary care and community services.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues regarding Occupational Therapy.
  • Engage in service development and clinical governance projects.
  • Supervise students, support staff, and less experienced clinicians.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Relevant experience in Mental Health Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in undertaking assessments and interventions.
  • Knowledge of mental health presentations and diagnoses.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and relevant mental health legislation.
  • Strong communication and engagement abilities.
  • Capability to independently manage a complex caseload.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Experience supervising or co-supervising students.
  • Post-qualified Mental Health training.
  • Clinical supervision training.
  • Familiarity with the Model of Human Occupation (MOHO).
  • Audit and research experience.
  • Proven ability to contribute to service development projects.
