What you will do:

  • Employ the highest standards of skills and knowledge in diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting, and treatments to achieve the best quality of patient care.
  • Perform and report routine and urgent lung function testing autonomously.
  • Frequently manoeuvre patients and equipment to undertake required testing.
  • Conduct and score home sleep studies, providing critical insights into patient conditions.
  • Counsel patients on the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), set up CPAP therapy, and manage follow-up consultations for patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) and Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome (OHS).
  • Refer patients on for further investigations as appropriate.
  • Comply with infection prevention and control procedures and safeguard children and vulnerable adults, attending required training sessions.
  • Communicate complex information to patients, including those with learning disabilities, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Utilise specialist, highly complex and expensive test equipment responsibly, including fault reporting.
  • Operate equipment that requires fine motor skills with precision and care.

Requirements:

  • HCPC Registration: Essential for providing legal and professional assurance of your skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years specialising as a Respiratory Physiologist.
  • Car Driver: Preferable, to facilitate convenient travel for patient consultations and testing.
