What you will do:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects and transformation programmes aligned with Council priorities and service objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, milestones, resource schedules, risk registers, and governance documentation.
  • Monitor project performance, manage budgets, and track benefits realisation, ensuring issues are escalated timely and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Coordinate project boards and stakeholder meetings, delivering clear progress reports, informed recommendations, and key performance updates.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Possess a degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience complemented by PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), or an equivalent recognised project management certification.
  • Demonstrable evidence of continued professional development in programme or project management.
  • Significant experience managing complex projects within a local authority, public sector, or regulated environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering transformation, service improvement, or organisational change programmes successfully.
