What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments using a person-centred, strengths-based approach.
  • Aid adults with physical disabilities to maintain functional ability and promote independence.
  • Implement strategies to reduce risks, such as fall prevention and avoiding hospital admissions.
  • Independently manage a complex caseload, making well-informed decisions on priority cases.
  • Assess for and procure necessary equipment and major adaptations, including making Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) recommendations.
  • Undertake manual handling assessments and offer guidance to clients and their caregivers.
  • Collaborate with a network of professionals, service users, and carers to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records while adhering to safeguarding principles and Care Act duties in practice.

Engaging Requirements:

  • Possess a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, particularly in local authority and NHS settings.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex caseloads and conducting DFG assessments.
  • Knowledgeable in the Care Act and safeguarding procedures.
  • Essential possession of a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for community visits.

Desirable Features:

  • Previous experience within Local Authority environments is advantageous.
  • Prevention and Early Intervention experience will be highly valued.
  • Skills in producing comprehensive rehousing reports.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary community teams is a plus.
