This is an exciting opportunity to join our team on a 6-month contract with the potential for extension in the heart of Swindon. As a Recovery Worker, you will specialise in Substance Misuse, bringing your expertise to support individuals on their journey to recovery.

What you will do

  • Manage a caseload of service users, providing ongoing assessment, care planning, risk management, and recovery support.
  • Conduct comprehensive substance misuse assessments and develop individual recovery plans tailored to identified needs.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group-based psychosocial interventions using evidence-based approaches.
  • Provide harm reduction advice, overdose awareness education, and support safer substance use practices where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, mental health services, probation services, housing providers, social care teams, and community organisations.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Substance Misuse, Community Justice, or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Willingness to undertake specialist substance misuse and recovery training.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.

Experience

  • Experience working with individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse, mental health needs, homelessness, offending behaviour, or other complex support needs.
