What you will do:

  • Lead and develop clinical pharmacy services for the Respiratory Directorate, ensuring excellence in service delivery.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to optimise patient outcomes and ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medicine usage.
  • Play a pivotal role in medicines optimisation and risk management within the respiratory services.
  • Contribute to respiratory medicine’s financial savings and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve service-wide goals.
  • Deliver and develop education and training programmes tailored to respiratory pharmacy needs, supporting evidence-based practice and service improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor rotational and trainee pharmacists, fostering a supportive and motivating work environment.

Additional Information:
This full-time role requires participation in weekly dispensary cover, as well as weekend and Bank Holiday working. You will also be involved in respiratory service development initiatives, working 37.5 hours per week.

Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). A Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy is required, and candidates should have completed or be studying for a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy. A Non-Medical Prescribing qualification or pursuit thereof is also necessary, alongside hospital pharmacy experience.

Desirable Requirements:
Experience in respiratory medicine, membership of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society or UKCPA, and previous management experience are all advantageous for this role.
