Welcome to a rewarding opportunity for an Occupational Therapist within the Social Services Team in Deeside, Flintshire. This is your chance to work in a dynamic role providing essential Occupational Therapy assessments for individuals and their carers. You will support them in overcoming health-related barriers to achieve their occupational outcomes, notably in their home environment. With a duration of 6 weeks, starting on 14 September 2026 and ending on 25 October 2026, you will be a part of a vibrant team working full-time over 37 hours per week. What you will do:
- Conduct Occupational Therapy assessments in community settings such as homes and residential facilities, managing complex cases independently.
- Perform outcome-focused and specialist assessments, including manual handling and environmental assessments.
- Advocate techniques to optimise functionality, while supporting carers.
- Assess and provide necessary disability equipment and research non-standard specialist orders.
- Recommend and facilitate minor and major home adaptations, collaborating with housing partners for optimal client independence.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training and reflective practice.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and multi-agency teams, providing insights and professional perspectives in various settings.
- Maintain accurate, timely records in compliance with governance and data protection standards.
