What you will do

  • Undertake comprehensive assessments covering physical, mental health, and substance misuse to create person-centred care and recovery plans.
  • Deliver clinical interventions, including alcohol and opioid treatment programmes, community detoxification support, and ongoing health monitoring.
  • Provide harm reduction advice and training, including needle exchange support, overdose prevention education, and naloxone training to service users and partners.
  • Conduct blood borne virus (BBV) screening, phlebotomy, and Hepatitis A/B vaccination programmes where appropriate.
  • Monitor service users receiving prescribed medications, ensuring safe administration, adherence to treatment plans, and compliance with clinical governance.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Registered Nurse qualification in Adult, Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nursing.
  • Current Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration is required.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to substance misuse, addiction, or community healthcare is a must.
  • A Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is desirable but not essential.

Experience

  • Post-registration nursing experience within substance misuse, community healthcare, mental health, primary care, or related services.
  • Proven experience supporting individuals with complex health, social, and psychological needs.
