We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Stroke Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team in Leicester, Leicestershire, for a full-time position lasting seven months. What you will do
- Assess and treat patients requiring rehabilitation following an acute stroke.
- Deliver Occupational Therapy interventions with a focus on stroke rehabilitation within a dedicated ward setting.
- Facilitate inpatient rehabilitation programmes with attention to individual patient needs.
- Support and lead upper limb rehabilitation groups, encouraging patient participation and progress.
- Conduct comprehensive functional assessments and contribute to effective treatment planning.
- Collaborate closely with therapy teams and the wider multidisciplinary team for integrated patient care.
- Communicate effectively with families to align on patient care and rehabilitation goals.
- Facilitate discharge planning to ensure safe and efficient patient flow.
- Complete onward referrals to appropriate community services and maintain accurate clinical records and reports.

- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: March 2027
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:30, with some flexibility on working pattern
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience
- Acute Stroke Rehabilitation experience
- Experience treating patients following acute stroke
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills
- Ability to manage an inpatient rehabilitation caseload
- Experience facilitating rehabilitation groups
- Experience within Stroke Rehabilitation Wards
- Community rehabilitation experience
