What you will do
- Provide safe, consistent, and child-centred care to children and young people living in the home.
- Support the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of children and young people.
- Work as an effective member of the residential team, contributing to the development and positive culture of the home.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people in line with legislation, Local Authority guidance, and organisational policies.
- Adhere to the therapeutic philosophy, values, and ethos of the home and organisation.
In your day-to-day duties, you will
- Ensure that individual needs are recognised, respected, and met, promoting equality and inclusion.
- Participate in developing and reviewing individual care plans, encouraging participation in recreational, leisure, and educational activities.
- Follow Local Authority Child Protection Procedures and the organisation’s policies to maintain a safeguarding environment.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents/carers, social workers, schools, and other professionals.
- Undertake household duties, care for children when unwell, and administer medication as required.
Qualifications and experience – desirable
- Experience of working with children and young people.
- Willingness to work towards a relevant qualification in Children and Young People’s Services.
- Previous experience working in a children’s residential setting.
