We are seeking an Independent Reviewing Officer to join the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Team within Children’s Social Care in Ellesmere Port, earning £30.91 per hour on an ongoing basis. What you will do
- Chair statutory Looked After Children Reviews in line with legislative requirements and timescales.
- Independently scrutinise care, permanence, and pathway planning to ensure children’s needs are being effectively met.
- Ensure children and young people are actively involved in reviews, with their views and feelings driving decision-making.
- Monitor the Local Authority’s performance as a Corporate Parent, challenging practices if care plans are not progressing appropriately.
Person Specification
- Possess a Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised social work qualification.
- Maintain current registration with Social Work England.
- Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development in the field of safeguarding and children in care.
- Significant post-qualifying experience within Children’s Social Care, especially with looked after children, permanence planning, and safeguarding services.
