What you will do:
- Deliver comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions tailored to support Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP) provision.
- Provide crucial therapy services to children and young people receiving Education Other Than At School (EOTAS).
- Work within Special Centres and Units in mainstream schools, offering targeted Occupational Therapy support.
- Design and implement person-centred interventions that enhance educational participation and development.
- Collaborate closely with education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
- Contribute to assessment, planning, and review processes to support young individuals’ unique educational needs.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC Registration.
- Proven Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience, particularly with children and young people.
- Track record of delivering effective EHCP provisions and strong assessment and report writing skills.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently within educational settings, as well as collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience with EOTAS and within school-based Occupational Therapy.
- Background in working with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience in special schools or specialist educational provisions.
Additional Information:
- EOTAS Team: 3 days per week working within the EOTAS team.
- Special Centres & Units: 2 days per week within Special Centres & Units attached to mainstream schools.
- EHCP Provision: Play a vital role in delivering EHCP provision to children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education.
