What you will do
- Perform biochemistry laboratory testing and analysis to aid in critical diagnostic processes.
- Process and analyse patient samples with precision and care.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated biochemistry analysers to ensure optimal performance.
- Validate and authorise laboratory results, maintaining rigorous quality standards.
- Uphold quality control and quality assurance measures, supporting a reliable Biochemistry service.
- Maintain accurate and thorough laboratory records and documentation.
- Engage in service development and continuous improvement activities, fostering innovation within the biochemistry team.
Requirements
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Proven experience as a Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist with NHS laboratory experience.
- Familiarity with WinPath Enterprise.
- Experience using Roche e801, c702, and potentially c703 analysers.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic laboratory environment.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Experience using Tosoh G11 analysers for HbA1c analysis.
- Previous Band 6 Biochemistry experience.
- Experience within an acute hospital laboratory environment.
Additional Information
- Start Date: ASAP
- Hours: 09:00-17:00, Monday to Friday
- Potential requirement to work until 21:00 following training
