What you will do
- Manage a diverse caseload, completing timely assessments, care planning, and interventions for children and families.
- Respond to referrals and safeguarding concerns, assessing risk and making informed, evidence-based decisions.
- Undertake Child and Family Assessments, contributing to child protection processes and legal proceedings as needed.
- Build effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners to inform assessment and planning.
- Apply legislation, policy, and best practice to deliver high-quality, child-centred services.
- Use professional judgement to identify appropriate interventions, review progress, and adapt plans where necessary.
- Carry out preventative work with families to reduce risk and improve outcomes for children.
- Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality assessments, reports, and court documentation.
- Contribute to reflective practice, multi-agency working, and continuous service improvement.
Experience and requirements
- Qualified Social Worker/Senior Social Worker with relevant professional registration and a commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience in Duty and Assessment, Referral and Assessment, Front Door, or Children’s Safeguarding service is essential.
- Strong experience in undertaking Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments, and safeguarding investigations.
- Ability to manage complex caseloads, exercise sound professional judgement, and make confident decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong Senior Social Workers with relevant experience will also be considered for this opportunity.
