What you will do

  • Undertake comprehensive fostering assessments, including Form F assessments, viability assessments, and connected persons assessments in line with fostering regulations.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and support to approved foster carers, identifying development needs and facilitating access to training opportunities.
  • Assess the needs of children in foster care and contribute to care planning, permanence planning and placement stability arrangements.
  • Prepare reports and present assessments to fostering panels, court proceedings and internal review meetings where required.
  • Work collaboratively with children’s social workers, health professionals, education providers and other partner agencies to safeguard and promote children’s welfare.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work (BA, MA or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • Evidence of continued professional development.

Registration & Compliance

  • Current registration with Social Work England.

Experience

  • Post-qualifying experience within Children’s Services, fostering, looked after children or family support services.
  • Experience supporting foster carers and undertaking statutory assessments.
  • Demonstrable experience of child-centred practice, safeguarding investigations and multi-agency working.
