Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the workload of newly qualified social workers under the direction of the team manager.
- Provide mentoring, reflective supervision, monitoring of case progression and professional development in line with the Social Workers Academy’s teaching programme.
- Deliver the Signs of Safety model of practice and ensure it is embedded into everyday work.
- Support Team Managers in maintaining up‑to‑date allocation records, service assurance and quality of delivery.
- Manage the interface between the Higher Education Institute and workplace training, contributing to selection, training and curriculum delivery, assessment and evaluation.
- Quality assure learning opportunities for social workers undertaking development training at undergraduate and post‑qualifying levels.
- Use feedback from Academy social workers to inform future development of the Academy.
- Maintain accurate records and reports to evidence meaningful practice assessment of Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW) according to the ASYE programme.
- Improve casework quality through file audits and implement audit feedback into practice.
- Assist the Team Manager with information systems for robust quality assurance, performance and budget management.
- Develop effective working partnerships with other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
- Provide professional leadership and education for social workers associated with the Academy at undergraduate and post‑graduate levels.
- Ensure health, safety and welfare of yourself and others and comply with departmental policies.
- Carry out duties within the broad spirit, scope and purpose of this post and commensurate with the grade.
- Demonstrate awareness of equal opportunities and diverse needs of others.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Social Work.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Experience within Children's Services.
- Full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
