Responsibilities:
- Provide day‑to‑day leadership, supervision, and case oversight to social workers, senior practitioners, and assessment staff.
- Ensure the team delivers assessments, reviews, and care plans in line with statutory duties and best practice.
- Support staff development through coaching, performance management, and continuous professional development.
- Oversee the assessment pathway to ensure timely allocation, progression, and completion of Care Act assessments.
- Monitor caseloads and workflow to ensure service efficiency and compliance with performance targets.
- Ensure high‑quality case recording and decision‑making consistent with organisational policies and audit standards.
- Ensure robust safeguarding practice across the team, including compliance with the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Pan‑London Safeguarding Procedures.
- Provide managerial oversight on complex safeguarding cases, mental capacity assessments, and risk assessments.
- Promote a culture of professional curiosity, risk awareness, and defensible decision‑making.
- Build effective working relationships with health partners, voluntary and community organisations, housing, and other stakeholders.
- Promote integrated working to ensure holistic and person‑centred support for adults and carers.
- Represent Adult Social Care at internal and external multi‑agency meetings.
- Drive continuous improvement across the assessment function and ensure strength‑based, outcome‑focused practice.
- Identify and address gaps in service delivery, escalating concerns where necessary.
- Contribute to service planning, audits, development projects, and policy initiatives.
- Ensure resources are used effectively and responsibly to deliver cost‑efficient care and support plans.
- Provide oversight of commissioned services and support packages to ensure quality and value for money.
