What you will do
- Perform mortuary duties including assisting with post-mortem examinations, organ and tissue retrievals, and body reconstruction.
- Conduct patient administration duties, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Liaise with pathologists, coroners, and funeral directors.
- Maintain health and safety standards within the mortuary and adhere to protocols and legislation.
- Provide professional support in forensic, coronial, and paediatric investigations.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to keep skills honed and up-to-date.
Requirements
- A minimum of APT Certification with RSPH is required; a higher Diploma qualification is desirable.
- At least 12 months of experience in an NHS mortuary environment, with a minimum of 3 months post-certification.
- Proven experience in a busy mortuary environment with coronial and forensic involvement, including paediatric post-mortems.
- You must be registered with HCPC.
- Flexibility and good physical health are essential, with no known musculoskeletal issues.
- Being a car driver is preferable to ensure easy commuting.
