What you will do:

  • Lead and manage a Families First Team, focusing on Child in Need, safeguarding, and assessment services.
  • Provide reflective supervision, case direction, and performance management for social workers and support staff.
  • Ensure timely completion of comprehensive child and family assessments, Section 17 Child in Need plans, and Section 47 child protection enquiries.
  • Oversee caseload management, risk assessment, decision-making, and ensure statutory compliance for positive outcomes.
  • Chair practice discussions, strategy meetings, and multi-agency planning meetings to foster collaboration.

Person Specification:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • A management qualification or leadership training is desirable.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Experience managing or supervising practitioners is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance is required.
