What you will do
- Undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for adults with complex neurological conditions.
- Manage an independent caseload within an inpatient neurological rehabilitation setting.
- Evaluate patient progress and adapt treatment programmes accordingly.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and rehabilitation planning.
- Complete risk assessments relating to moving and handling of complex patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to audits and service development.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy students and Rehabilitation Assistants where required.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registration.
- Demonstrable neurology experience.
- Experience using outcome measures.
- Ability to assess and treat progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions.
- Strong caseload management and prioritisation skills.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound IT skills.
Desirable Requirements
- BAOT Membership.
- Relevant postgraduate training.
- Clinical supervision experience.
- Community Occupational Therapy experience.
- Experience fabricating thermoplastic upper limb orthoses.
