Information Security Officer Worcester based with a balance of home and office working £44,967- £47,334 per year 35 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced Information Security Officer to join our Technology Security team within the Group’s Technology Department. The team consists of 4 people who are responsible for protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Group’s data and technology. They do this by providing security expertise to staff to develop a culture of security, awareness, compliance, and inclusion throughout the Group. The role of Information Security Officer will include:
- Supporting the development and maintenance of information security policies and processes to ensure data, systems and applications are secure and robust
- Providing support and advice to staff and partners on governance and compliance frameworks, policies and procedures as needed
- Supporting the effective resolution of customers’ security issues and queries
- Liaising with the Technology Service Desk to ensure a high-quality level of customer service is provided
- Carrying out appraisals of new and existing processes and their suitability to meet the future needs of the Group whilst meeting security requirements
- Identifying risks and vulnerabilities and raising awareness of these information security issues
- Promoting digital health and wellbeing
Skills and experiences:
- Working knowledge of information security practices in a large and complex organisation
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
- Experience of resolving technical security related issues
- Experience of information security tools
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO27001 and NIST
- Experience of data protection, UK legislation and GDPR
- Ability to extract and interpret computerised data
- Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and its application
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer care skills

- Role salary is £32,244 with an additional policy allowance of £12,723 per annum (rising to £33,941 with an additional policy allowance of £13,393 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
