Role Overview
Assistant Contracts Manager based in Worcester. Supports management of external service providers, suppliers and contract performance, focusing on maintenance and construction activities, ensuring achievement of contractually agreed levels of service, quality and cost. Coordinates contract mobilisation and exit. Sits within the Contract Management sub‑team of the wider Group Procurement team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the interface between key suppliers and internal operational stakeholders.
- Ensure structures are in place to enable smooth contract operation.
- Monitor contractor performance, source and produce reports, identify improvements.
- Identify service shortfalls and manage improvement projects.
- Act as point of expertise for colleagues, supporting future tenders and contracts.
- Form strong relationships with stakeholders, internally and externally.
- Travel regularly; must hold a full valid driving licence.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree, management qualification or another relevant professional qualification.
- Previous experience in managing/monitoring supply contracts.
- Understanding of project management methodologies to manage contract teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, with data analysis ability.
- Some knowledge and experience within maintenance or construction sectors.
