Service Delivery Manager – Gas (East Region)

We have an opportunity for a Service Delivery Manager – Gas to join our team based in Ely. The SDM will sit within the Gas Operations function, report directly to the East Gas Operations Manager, and be part of the East regional leadership team.

The SDM is not a lone‑working role and will be responsible for leading a team of directly employed gas engineers across the East region whilst working collaboratively with internal support functions to deliver compliant, efficient, and customer‑focused services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of gas engineers carrying out services, repairs and installations.
  • Manage the delivery of all works on behalf of Property Services to support performance delivery and compliance.
  • Ensure the effective service delivery of quality maintenance services from field‑based engineers.
  • Recruit, assess, develop and retain quality field‑based engineers to meet contractual and service specifications.
  • Provide technical support to the field‑based engineers and assist in improving business efficiency without compromising compliance.
  • Coordinate, communicate and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Work closely with the Home Office to prevent unlawful working.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety legislation and building safety legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience managing a team of gas engineers.
  • Working knowledge of the application of Health & Safety and building safety legislation.
  • Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling.
  • Full UK driving licence, required for driving a company vehicle.
  • Qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, Gas Auditing Qualification, HTR1, Unvented – G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS) or currently undertaking the qualification.

Additional Requirements

A basic Disclosure and Barring Service check will be necessary in the event of a successful application, which we will pay for. Candidates must present the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
