We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, covering different sites across Hampshire. In this role you will be working as part of a team with some lone working also required. These works are day-to-day reactive maintenance on our properties and duties include carpentry, painting and decorating, bricklaying, plumbing and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong plumbing background as their primary trade, complemented by experience across a range of multi‑trade disciplines.
Due to the nature of the role, a company van will be provided as well as power tools for you to complete jobs to a high standard.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
- Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or setting in motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
- Emergency call‑out rota, which will be approximately 1 in every 13/14 weeks.
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented – G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS) must be held. Candidates must bring the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous.
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks.
- Additional skills in plumbing, carpentry and plastering add value.
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence to drive a company vehicle on company business.
