Multi-Trade Operative
Welwyn Garden City – covering St Albans, Stevenage, Hemel Hempstead, and Luton areas
£36,095 – £37,994 per year
40 hours per week
We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our team, based in Welwyn Garden City. Covering sites across AL, SG, HP and LU postcodes you will be responsible for carrying out day to day repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. It will also involve preparing void properties for new tenants.
The role is predominantly lone working although you will be part of a 6 strong team of other Multi-Trade Operatives and Electricians. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Carrying out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
- Required to be part of our Out of Hours emergency cover on a rota basis. This is normally 1 in 10 weeks (enhancement paid)
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical. If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented – G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS). As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
