Sanctuary provide in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Day to Day repairs team, based in Ipswich. With a mix of skills and qualifications, the role will involve carrying out repairs to our properties and will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance, including doors and windows. The role is mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required, sharing out of hours call outs on a rota basis. With a company van and tools included, the role will cover the sites across Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:
- Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
- Carrying out general building repairs including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, UPVC etc
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS).
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
- Skills in some of the following disciplines – carpentry, bricklaying, plastering
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

£34,376 per annum (rising to £36,185 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
