We are looking for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Response team based in the Midlands. Covering sites across the Midlands you will be responsible for carrying out reactive repairs to occupied properties, ranging from a leaking tap to changing baths, changing a door handle to hanging a new door. The team also carry out external repairs including fencing and groundworks.

The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

  • Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, diagnosing problems, fault fixing and maintenance duties required within a Social Housing environment

  • Taking ownership and Resolving problems or setting into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed

  • Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed

  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer

Sanctuary Maintenance Contractors Limited is a subsidiary of Sanctuary Housing Association, an exempt charity.

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to City & Guilds qualification, Unvented – G3 Certificate, Water Regulations (WRAS), NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing if plumbing is core) or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application

  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within the social housing sector is advantageous

  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks

  • Additional skills in some of the following disciplines – plumbing, carpentry and plastering would be advantageous

  • Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations and requirements

  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
