Sanctuary provide in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. 40 hours per week – Monday to Friday 8:00am – 16:30pm

We are looking for a Landscape Technician Charge Hand to join our Property Services team in Ipswich. You will visit large estates with large communal gardens and smaller properties with minimal spaces to carry out tasks such as litter picking, grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub pruning and bulk removals. You will work alongside other Landscape Technicians and will lead the team to make sure all sites are visited in accordance with contractual obligation. This role also involves lone working as and when required. A van will be provided, and it will be your responsibility to ensure it is kept in good condition.

The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand will include:

  • Providing supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean
  • Using equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
  • Carrying out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations

Skills and experiences:

  • A pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent
  • Recent experience of working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is essential
  • Some experience of supervising others

This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
