We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Operations Responsive team based in Hull. The role will involve working on repairs for tenanted properties across the North East Coast. You will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance including plumbing, gaining access, mechanism replacements, glazing, UPVC window and door repairs. You will be provided with a company van and power tools and training will be given as and when required.

The role will include lone and team working, and you will also be required to be on an emergency call out rota. A company van and power tools will be provided for business use along with training as and when needed.

The role will include:

  • Attending occupied properties to carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties within Social Housing
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
  • Maintaining a suitable van stock level and restocking these when needed
  • Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
  • Providing out of hours cover via a call out rota

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with Building Safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to or undertaking NVQ Level 2 in a core subject (carpentry, electrical). If Plumbing Level 3 is required, Unvented - G3 Certificate and Water Regulations (WRAS).
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role within social housing is advantageous
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
  • Additional skills in some of the following disciplines - plumbing, carpentry and plastering would be advantageous
  • Working knowledge of the health and safety regulations
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

£34,376 per annum (rising to £36,185 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
