Sanctuary provide in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. We have an opportunity for 3 Grounds Maintenance Team Leaders to join our team of 13 Landscapers, delivering grounds maintenance across Sanctuary sites throughout Southwest Scotland. You will be leading teams carrying out Grounds Maintenance work, including grass cutting, blowing, strimming, hedge cutting, de-weeding and more.
The role of Grounds Maintenance Team Leader will include:
- Providing supervisory support in keeping estates well maintained and clean in accordance with grounds maintenance contract specifications and appropriate horticultural practices.
- Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensuring accurate daily work records are completed.
- Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract specifications and escalating complaints as appropriate.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks.
- Using equipment and materials in a safe manner, as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and method statements and the manufacturer’s guidance.
- Carrying out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines and in a safe manner, ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements.
Skills and experiences:
- Literacy and numeracy equivalent to grade C GCSE English and Maths.
- NVQ3 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline.
- Some experience in supervising others.
- Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling.
- Some practical experience of operating machinery.
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
