We have an opportunity for two Fire Safety Advisors to join our wider Building Safety team, based in London. The team provides guidance and support to the Group on fire safety matters and to ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance to minimise the risk and maximise safety to ensure best practice is employed across the Group.

In this role, you will provide fire safety advice on a large variety of properties within the Sanctuary property portfolio in London, Essex and the South East area, and will also have opportunities for professional development and career progression. These roles sit within the Group Building Safety team which is responsible for Building Safety management and ensuring Group compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.

The role of Fire Safety Advisor will include:

  • Conducting fire safety audits to identify and implement improvements to ensure compliance and knowledge of fire safety legislation
  • Coaching colleagues across the Group to adopt best practice and contribute to the development of written internal technical guidance notes and training materials
  • Supporting all Group business areas in complying with fire safety legislation, fire policy, procedures and guidance by the provision of proactive advice and responding to requests for advice and support
  • Maintaining fire safety competence by keeping abreast of changes in legislation, best practice in the fire industry and new / emerging technologies and fire risks

Skills and experiences:

  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Level 4/5 diploma or equivalent Fire qualification or currently undertaking the qualification. If you have a lower level qualification along with practical experience and would be prepared to undertake this qualification with the support of Sanctuary Group, we would still welcome an application.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Fire regulations, legislation and current and good practice and related issues
  • Good communication, analytical abilities, and project management skills
  • Strong leadership and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Fire Safety equipment and systems
  • Experience in crisis management, regulatory knowledge and training development is beneficial

This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
