Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant at our CQC‑registered mental health and dementia care service at Montague Road in Felixstowe. Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Care and Support Assistants
- Work closely with staff to provide personal care and support, encouraging customers to enhance their independence and personal potential
- Ensure safe handling of medication
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
- Promote safe practices and undertake risk assessments as appropriate
- Manage and implement safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our customers
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience supervising a team
- Personalised approach to care and support with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
- Recent experience working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and possessing a strong ‘can‑do’ attitude
- Strong organisational skills, functional literacy and numeracy
- Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards one, is desirable
