Sanctuary provides in-house repairs and maintenance services for an extensive portfolio of properties across Sanctuary organisations. Location and Salary

Glasgow £39,799 - £41,894 per year

Working hours

40 hours per week – Monday to Friday – 8:00am to 4:30pm

Role

We are looking for an Electrician to join our team, based in Glasgow. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance repairs and certification as required for these works. You will work with other operatives to ensure the work is done to a high standard but also will be lone working therefore using your own initiative is essential. Full training will be provided along with a company van and tools for company use. Based at Sanctuary Property Services, Glasgow you will cover sites across the county.

The role of Electrician will include:

  • Inspecting and testing void properties, ensuring safety and compliance
  • Maintaining electrical installations in void properties, ranging from light fitting to partial/full rewires
  • Monitoring and maintaining good levels of van stock and ensuring tools and equipment are kept in a suitable condition
  • Completing all paperwork and producing certification associated with works undertaken

Skills and experiences

To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to BS5839-1, 18th Edition - 2nd Amendment, BS5839-6, NVQ Level 3 or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.

  • Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
  • Analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills along with a customer focused approach

This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence.
