Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Catering Assistant for our Retirement Communities Service at Greenwich Gardens in Derby. At Sanctuary Supported Living, we specialise in delivering a wide range of personalised housing, care, and support services to help people across England to live as independently as possible. The position of Catering Assistant is referred to internally at Sanctuary as General Assistant - Catering. The role of Catering Assistant will include:
- Helping to prepare meals and drinks, following food hygiene standards
- Working with customers, families, advocates, and staff to ensure a high standard of services
- Undertaking general duties as assigned, such as maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, communal areas, and customers’ flats
- Identifying and reporting potential faults and hazards on site, to maintain a safe environment
- Maintaining stock levels, restocking as required and ensuring equipment is used in line with guidance notes
Skills and experiences:
- Working knowledge and experience of undertaking general catering duties is desirable
- Some experience of working in a domestic/catering environment
- Level 2 diploma in housekeeping/catering, or willing to work towards
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- A general understanding of health and safety in the workplace
