We have an opportunity for a Mobile Caretaker to join our team based in Leeds. As a Mobile Caretaker you will work as part of a small team within the Estates department. Estates cover various aspects of work from waste removal, damp and mould treatment, grounds maintenance and cleaning. You will be expected to support the team in completing all aspects of the above. Working as part of a two‑person team you will often collaborate with other teams to carry out larger or more complex tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Damp and mould treatment in properties; this includes identifying, treating and then redecorating the affected area
- Waste removal from across all our sites, generally this will be fly‑tipped waste but may include emptying void properties
- Gutter cleaning using an extendable vacuum system so all work is carried out from ground level
- Working with other Estates teams where needed
- Ensuring Health and Safety protocols are followed
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and used in line with policies and procedures
- Using a smart phone to manage work and receive and record work tasks
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of cleaning and caretaking, and an understanding of COSHH and Risk Assessments
- Knowledge of how to use grounds machinery confidently and competently
- Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
- Practical experience of carrying out risk assessments
- Must hold a full valid UK driving licence to drive a company vehicle on business
