We have an opportunity for an Estates Service Manager based in Canterbury, covering our Kent area. This role forms part of the Estates team and involves leading a team of 14 operatives which includes Grounds, cleaning, caretaking and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective management of frontline grounds maintenance, cleaning, and compliance teams to ensure the availability of suitably trained resources on-site to meet statutory requirements including Building Safety and related compliance at all times.
- Support, monitor and review performance of self and sub-contractors; review risk assessments and produce site-specific written schemes to ensure a robust maintenance regime is loaded onto the business systems.
- Provide technical support to field engineers and assist in improving business efficiency without compromising compliance.
- Support the review of weekly engineers’ paperwork and exemptions escalated by audits, and ensure statutory certification content, quality, and compliance to mitigate risk and maximise opportunity.
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract and service specifications.
Qualifications and Skills
- To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates must be qualified to ILM membership (The Institute of Leadership). Original certification verifying proof of qualifications must be brought to the interview; copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
- Recent experience in a similar role, preferably within a building maintenance or facilities management environment.
- Proven experience analyzing and diagnosing complex problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation.
- This role will involve driving on company business; a full valid UK driving licence is required to drive a company vehicle.
