Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Chef at our CQC Registered Residential Care Home, Montague Road, Felixstowe.

The role of Assistant Chef will include:

  • Delivering a high-quality versatile catering service that caters for our customers’individual needs, including special diets
  • Assisting with the planning and creation of nutritionally balanced meals for our customers
  • Promoting and monitoring food hygiene and safety standards
  • Maintaining current risk assessments and cleaning the kitchen to a high standard
  • Ability to work alone, in absence of Chef Manager
  • Monitoring and ordering stock and receiving deliveries for the service

Skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience of working in a catering environment is essential along with experience of cooking for various groups of people
  • A valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential
  • Proven knowledge of health and safety procedures and operation of catering equipment is essential
  • Friendly and approachable attitude with the ability to interact with our customers, visitors, and colleagues
  • Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality, or knowledge at an equivalent level
