Overview

Sanctuary Supported Living is delighted to be recruiting for a Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Mental Health Service at Aldam House in Goole. The role is within the Health and Social Care department (Qualified and Non-Qualified) and operates under Sanctuary Supported Living. Closing Date: . Requisition: 225998. Salary: ÂŁ12.70 per hour. Hours: 37.5 per week.

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to encourage customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential
  • Providing a high-quality, hands-on support service
  • Encouraging customers to develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and participation in their community
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of customers and encouraging choice and involvement; acting as an advocate when required
  • Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in line with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices

Skills and experience

  • A caring, approachable nature with a confident “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate information to the team
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal/external agencies
  • Experience of working as a member of a team
  • A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
  • Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards
