We have an opportunity for a Scheme Manager – Homeownership to join our Housing Management team based at The Orchard in Brandon. As a Scheme Manager – Homeownership you will be responsible for providing a high quality housing management service reporting and following up communal repairs, supporting the homeownership team with special projects, and managing local contractors. This is a rewarding yet challenging role and is ideal for someone who has previous experience of working in a building or facilities management role with older people, in a housing management setting, and aware of safeguarding concerns. This is a residential role, but can be reviewed with the right candidate.

The role of Scheme Manager – Homeownership will include:

  • Providing reports to the homeownership officer
  • Being the first point of call for residents, and interviewing new residents
  • Promoting independent living and sign posting to appropriate agencies
  • Encouraging residents to organise and get involved in activities
  • Completing mandatory compliance tasks along with health and safety checks
  • Reporting and monitoring repairs to conclusion, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
  • Wellbeing calls to residents via warden call system
  • Providing cover at schemes in the region for other Scheme Managers
  • Managing low level anti-social behaviour
  • Support the Homeownership Officer with budget setting, and service charge reviews
  • Manage local contractors including cleaners, gardeners and maintenance providers

Skills and experiences:

  • Numeracy and literacy to the equivalent of GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths
  • Some experience of working with older people and understanding their individual needs or similar
  • Ability to work alone and manage workloads to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Experience of using housing management software
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook
  • Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is essential

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £25,375 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week rising to £26,159 per annum after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance
