About the Trainee Scheme
As a Trainee Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll:
- Gain in-depth knowledge of Quantity Surveying through a two‑year scheme
- Rotate across Business Units to enhance your understanding of our operations
- Attend regular business masterclasses on leadership, project management, technical skills, and industry‑specific knowledge
- Compete in the King’s Trust Million Makers project, developing entrepreneurial skills and raising money for The King’s Trust
Hands‑on experience includes:
- Tender Process: Review drawings, analyse tenders, and negotiate with contractors
- Budgets: Create and manage Excel budgets, utilising system budgets
- Order Placement: Chair meetings and facilitate order placements
- Payments: Generate payment batches, address invoice queries, and draft certificates
- Conduct valuations, reconcile costs and compile comprehensive reports
- Subcontractor Management: Cultivate relationships, manage accounts and understand pricing structures
The Programme
The Trainee Programme is a structured development pathway lasting between two and four years, depending on your entry level and progression. It combines on‑the‑job experience with formal training to build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to step into the Assistant Quantity Surveyor role. Throughout the programme, you will:
- Complete a two‑year professional skills course at our dedicated Training Hub in Solihull
- Follow a structured development plan with clear milestones for salary progression

Job Requirements
