Your role:
- Monitor capital and revenue projects, consultants and contractors performance and liaise with other departments to ensure work is carried out promptly and in accordance with contract specifications.
- Carry out inspections and surveys to assess requirements for capital projects in line with organisational policies and procedures to ensure health and safety regulatory compliance and contract performance.
- Identify and commission targeted, value for money reinvestment plans to ensure the ongoing fit for purpose nature of the stock in support of Group objectives.
- Manage contractors in accordance with their contractual terms, making recommendations for improvements and implementing actions as appropriate to ensure contract specifications continue to be met.
- Ensure investment works are compliant with legislative and regulatory requirements and make appropriate recommendations on changes that may need to be made mid-project to ensure full compliance and consistent delivery of services.
- Produce appropriate documentation for work specifications and tenders and provide accurate and timely information for management reports.
- Carry out routine stock condition surveys in order for quality data regarding Homes to be held to inform robust investment decisions and to enable proactive management of maintenance issues.
- Work with Regional Maintenance Managers to provide safe and well maintained environments to meet the needs of the customer and the business and ensure planned and reactive repairs and maintenance duties are carried out in line with business specifications and legislative procedures.
Your skills:
- Recent experience of undertaking a similar role.
- Proven experience in a building and surveying environment.
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads.
- Working knowledge of building regulations, legislation and current practices.
- Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation.
- Some experience in tendering, contract documentation and Construction Design and Management.
- Some experience of managing projects.
- Building related degree, relevant professional qualification or knowledge and ability at an equivalent level.
- HNC in Building and Surveying or similar.
- Qualified to MRICS / MCIOB Associate status or similar.
- Full current driving licence.
