Overview

We are looking to appoint a highly effective and motivated teacher, who is ready to take their next step into school leadership and join as Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for English. This is a non-class based position, with dedicated time for the person appointed to undertake this crucial role. Permanent – Full Time Post. Required for January 2026.

As a member of the school\’s SLT, the successful candidate will contribute to all aspects of school leadership and support safeguarding as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Be a role model of high quality teaching and learning in your current setting.
  • Support and develop others and take a role in the strategic leadership of English across the school.
  • Promote the vision and values of the school and maintain high professional standards.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and other SLT duties as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Passion for English and ambition for every child to achieve their full potential.
  • Ability to lead English across the school and engage in strategic leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with staff, pupils and parents.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning from others.
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to provide documentation to prove this.
  • Willingness to undergo medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
