Mission
We're searching for a creative social media obsessive with a passion for all things beauty to help us craft captivating content. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for developing innovative content concepts, bringing them to life with your hands-on creation skills, and strategically managing their performance across platforms to resonate deeply with beauty audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Strategy & Execution: Lead the creation of engaging, platform-specific beauty content (video, text, image, interactive etc.) that resonates with target audiences and reflects the brand voice. Manage and maintain content calendars, ensuring timely and strategic scheduling of posts across various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok). Stay ahead of algorithm updates and emerging platform features to optimise content performance and reach within the beauty space. Develop social-first beauty concepts that align with client briefs and brand aesthetics. Be highly reactive to emerging beauty trends, proposing and creating content at the peak of its relevancy.
- Content Creation & Production: Shoot, edit, and deliver creative social-first concepts β advanced knowledge of phone editing software is a must (e.g., CapCut, TikTok Studio, native editing etc.). Create compelling post captions that elevate beauty visuals and drive engagement. Work closely with designers and the production team, as required, for more involved beauty campaigns and shoots.
- Community Building & Engagement: Cultivate and nurture vibrant online communities by actively monitoring social media channels, responding thoughtfully and professionally to comments and messages, outreaching to different audiences and fostering meaningful interactions for our beauty brands. Identify and engage with key influencers and relevant stakeholders to amplify brand reach and build strategic partnerships within the beauty sector. Proactively identify and address potential issues or negative sentiment, escalating when necessary.
- Performance Monitoring & Analysis: Support on the generation of insightful and actionable reports on social media performance, providing data-driven recommendations for optimisation in monthly reports and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). Conduct competitive analysis to identify trends, benchmark performance, and inform strategic decision-making within the beauty market.
- Client Management & Collaboration: Contribute to the development and delivery of compelling client presentations and reports, clearly articulating social media strategies and results. Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., creative, account management) to ensure seamless campaign execution and integrated marketing efforts. Proactively manage client expectations and ensure timely collection of assets and approvals. Understand complex client needs and challenges within the beauty industry.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Continuously explore and implement the latest social media trends, tools, and technologies to enhance campaign effectiveness and drive innovation. Participate actively in industry events, webinars, and workshops to stay informed and share knowledge within the team. Contribute to the development of internal best practices and processes for social media management.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (2-3+ years) in a social media management role, ideally in an agency environment or in-house for a beauty brand.
- Demonstrable success in developing and executing impactful social media strategies that have delivered measurable results for consumer brands, with a strong preference for beauty sector experience.
- Deep understanding of the nuances and best practices for various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok) and their application to beauty content - specifically adept in TikTok with experience working on a profile or brandsβ TikTok to build content and community.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and brand-aligned content.
- Experience with using social media analytics tools to track, interpret, and report on performance (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Twitter Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, TikTok Analytics, Google Analytics).
- Experience with social media management and scheduling tools (Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social etc).
- Strong understanding and use of social tech relevant to content creation.
- Solid understanding of design principles and basic photo/video editing skills are essential.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A strong portfolio brimming with epic digital and social beauty ideas, showcasing successful social media campaigns and hands-on content creation.
