The predicted salary is between 55000 - 65000 £ per year.

You will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership as a core member of the Senior Leadership Team and will play a central role in shaping whole school practice and improving life changes for young people in Mansfield.
  • Lead the Academy’s Quality of Education strategy, securing consistently high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects.
  • Drive professional development, including Early Career Framework delivery, middle leadership development, and a coherent programme of CPD.
  • Lead whole-school quality assurance, including curriculum implementation, subject leadership, and reading across the curriculum.
  • Develop and deliver a Quality of Education Improvement Plan, demonstrating clear, measurable impact.
  • Lead on preparedness for Ofsted and SIAMS inspections, ensuring the Academy is always inspection-ready.
  • Line manage senior and middle leaders, providing challenge, support, and accountability to secure sustained improvement.
  • Act as Deputy to the Head of School as required.
  • Champion a culture of high expectations, professional urgency, and unwavering belief that every child can succeed.
  • Safeguarding, staff wellbeing, equality of opportunity, and living out the Christian ethos of the Academy are central to this role.

The Person

Essential

  • A deep commitment to the values and Christian ethos of The Samworth Church Academy.
  • A proven track record of impactful senior leadership, with demonstrable improvements in outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to design and implement effective systems to improve Quality of Education.
  • Significant experience of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • An excellent communicator, able to inspire staff, students, and the wider community.
  • Deep understanding of teaching, curriculum, pedagogy, and professional development.
  • Strong data literacy, using assessment intelligently to inform improvement.

Desirable

  • NPQSL or NPQH (or equivalent).
  • Experience of leading through Ofsted and/or SIAMS inspections.
  • Experience in managing complex HR matters.
  • Understanding of school funding and resource deployment.
