As a Specification Technologist, you write and maintain product specifications to make sure all information is accurate, safe, legal and ready for customers. You work closely with Technical, NPD, Process and Procurement teams to gather the right data and ensure each product meets customer, legal and company standards. Your work helps products launch on time and ensures labels and information are always correct.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, complete, and maintain product specifications for branded and own-label products across customer portals
  • Ensure all product labelling complies with food safety, quality, and legal standards
  • Co-manage the artwork process, ensuring packaging information is accurate and compliant
  • Review raw material specifications against customer codes of practice
  • Support the product development lifecycle, including critical path management from concept to launch
  • Maintain the site recipe management system
  • Attend customer meetings, pre-artwork reviews, and internal KPI meetings

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year’s experience in a technical/specifications or related role within food manufacturing
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, or external stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using web-based specification systems (desirable)
  • Knowledge of food labelling requirements (desirable)
