The Opportunity
At Soreen, we're looking for an influential HS&E Manager who can drive lasting cultural change across our Trafford Park site.
This is not a role for someone who simply enforces compliance.
We're looking for a visible, credible leader who can engage colleagues at every level, secure buy-in from senior stakeholders and inspire people to take ownership of health, safety and environmental performance.
You'll be the trusted advisor to our leadership team, helping to create an environment where safety is everyone's responsibility, risks are proactively managed and colleagues have the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours.
You'll combine strong technical expertise with exceptional communication skills, translating complex legislation and risk into clear, practical actions that deliver results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver the site's HS&E strategy, ensuring the business remains compliant, protected and continually improving.
- Drive a positive safety culture where colleagues actively look after themselves and others and never walk past unsafe behaviours or conditions.
- Influence and coach leaders, managers and team leaders to take ownership of health and safety within their areas.
- Partner with the senior leadership team to identify priorities, manage risk and improve performance.
- Use data, insights and trends to shape improvement plans and reduce incidents across the site.
- Audit critical risk areas, ensuring robust controls and standards are maintained.
- The Ideal Candidate
We believe that success is built upon collaboration and diverse perspectives.
At Samworth Brothers, we welcome candidates who are passionate about working together to achieve greatness.
- As a valued member of our team, you will bring the following skills and experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) and Chartered IOSH membership, or be working towards Chartered status.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehousing or operational environment, ideally within food manufacturing.
- A proven track record of improving safety culture and driving behavioural change.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels.
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach that balances operational demands with safety requirements.
- The ability to secure buy-in, build relationships and bring people with you on the journey.
We also want you to thrive in an engaging and inclusive work culture where you will have the opportunity to take on personal accountability and take pride in your work.
We encourage positive communication, and the building of strong collaborative relationships is essential to every role.
