As Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of site-wide engineering operations, ensuring our facilities, plant, and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You'll lead engineering strategy while delivering world-class standards in maintenance, compliance, asset care, and capital project delivery. Working closely with Operations, Technical, Finance, HR and other key stakeholders, you'll play a critical role in driving operational performance, supporting future growth, and developing a high-performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the Engineering and Site Services teams, creating a high-performing, safety-focused culture.
- Own and deliver the site engineering strategy, ensuring plant, equipment and facilities support business objectives.
- Drive engineering excellence through effective maintenance planning, asset care and operational performance management.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, quality, legal and regulatory standards across all engineering activities.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the planning and delivery of capital investment projects, including a rolling 3–5-year capital programme.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and collaborate with Operations, Technical and Support teams to maximise site performance and reliability.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or senior engineering leadership role within manufacturing.
- Formal management qualification.
- NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
- Strong experience managing maintenance operations, budgets and engineering teams.
- Demonstrable experience leading safety, compliance and continuous improvement programmes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
